Yep, we’re back! On the to-do list for many years then two visits in 7 days, what can I say; it’s very addictive! Check out part 1 here to catch up on the previous visit.

Met up with Gary again for the day and headed to Corris Corner. Last week at Cad West in the morning, the light wasn’t the best as you’re almost shooting into the sun, so though we’d head to this place in hope of better light – not to mention, they’re coming from a right to left direction against the mountains & lake. The sun was in and out most of the day so light was a little flat. Had some good passes in the morning with Hawks, 30years Tornado and Typhoon.

Packing up to head over to Cad West, we nearly missed this Typhoon pass.

Then a short drive and parked up at Cad West, gear ready to go we got buzzed by two Typhoons 100 feet above us, unbelievably amazing sight to see them so close and very loud. No chance for photos as by time you’ve seen them appear over the crest they’re already over you. They’re a lot bigger when you’re standing underneath them! Heading up the track they’d already done the loop and came over again, the second plane (still in it’s orange paint primer coat) was slightly inverted as it went over before climbing high into the clouds. Awesome sight!

On getting to the top, met up with Allan & Si and then had a lovely pass by a Hercules. Very large planes a low level.
